KS2 Summer 1 Homework sheet.

Welcome back to Eagle Class and the summer term. This half term in KS2 our topic is From Source to Sea. During this topic the children will be learning all about rivers, from their source, their course from springs or streams, passing down waterfalls, into fast flowing rivers and rapids, meandering through the plains until their journey's end at their mouth - going into the sea.

Watch this page for more detailed information on our Topic overview sheet in due course.

We have started off our Easter work this year thinking about the different days of Holy Week in the Christian Easter story. We have journeyed around our school grounds, waving palm leaves for Palm Sunday, sharing the Last Supper on Maundy Thursday, acting out the events that happened with the betrayal of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, thinking about the cross and wondering about Jesus' resurrection.

Chinese New Year Dragon Dance

Thank you to those who came to the first Celebration Assembly of the half term. For those of you who missed it....Eagle Class performed a Chinese New Year Dragon Dance to the parents and the whole school. They had a workshop prior to the performance for just one hour to learn the moves. They were absolutely fantastic!! There are a few photos on here of them rehearsing.

Romans in the School!

What a fantastic day we had on Wednesday learning about Romans. We were very lucky to have a visitor to lead our special day in school. Thank you to parents for organising the costumes for the children....they all looked fantastic. The day included a fashion show and a slave auction! The children are really enjoying our current topic and are loving finding out about many aspects of Roman life and how our country has changed because of the Romans!

Continuing our theme of "Shake Rock and Roll", the children made designs of animals or patterns and then tried to replicate their designs on their own pebbles.

Eagle Class KS2 Topic Overview - Autumn 2 - Shake, Rock and Roll

Over the last two weeks the children have been making Stone Age home models, using their designs in their DT books. The idea was to make their models as near as possible to their planning design. They then had to evaluate how it went, saying if it looked like their drawing, what went right, what problems they had and whether they would do anything differently if they made it again. Here are some pictures of them working and showing their ongoing work.
